DANIEL CHEN LAB studies drug resistance, DNA damage response, and metabolic reprogramming in cancer with the approaches of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry to improve current therapeutic regimens.
Major Accomplishments:
- Trained 22 undergraduates and 1 graduate student
- 14 undergraduates developed research projects
- 7 undergraduates landed Academic Summer Internships
- 11 undergraduates participated in summer/winter break programs in B403 CHEN LAB at NDHU
- 6 out of 9 undergraduates were admitted to Master's programs upon graduation
- Successfully established extramural funding for 2 NSTC grants
- Generated and submitted 8 proposals for NSTC College Student Research Scholarships
- 3 undergraduates received NSTC College Student Research Scholarships
- Received extramural funding for 2 MOE grants
- Successfully secured intramural funding for 2 Student Independent Learning Groups
- Established 1 intramural funding for developing pedagogy
- Presented 7 posters at conferences
- Published 5 peer-reviewed papers
- 6 manuscripts under preparation
- Received 1 Merit Award for a poster presentation competition
- Achieved 2 Merit Awards for Student Independent Learning Groups
- Nominated as an Excellent Mentor by the Department 2 times
- Selected as an Excellent Mentor by the University once
